 Adela y Lupita is a simply delightful duet featuring Mireya Ramos (violin/bass/vocal), and Shae Fiol (vocals/guitar/vihuela). The pair have been playing for and dazzling audiences since they landed on the scene just after the turn of the century. Sounds like a long time ago, which in effect conveys exactly how pure and synchronized their musical bond has become. They have played everything from soul, folk, jazz, reggae, and latin music together throughout the years all over New York city from the Blue Note to BB Kings. However it wasn't until Summer 2008 that they found their niche in the traditions of Mexican folk music. Their vocal harmonies soar powerfully yet effortlessly through every song in their live performance leaving the listener spellbound as though they have been magically transported through time and space. Their duet often invokes the spirit of earlier duets like Hermanas Huertas or Lena y Lola however their backgrounds in contemporary music make their sound all the more captivating and unique. Furthermore, unlike most traditional duets, these two beautiful young sirens transcend just being phenomenal singers. They are a two woman band who can fill a concert hall with pure harmonies and heart-wrenching sentiment.
